hard maple candies

Ingredients

  • 500 ml (2 cups) maple syrup
  • 190 ml (3/4 cup) water
  • 21.5 ml (1 1/2 tbsp) maple (or white) vinegar

Preparation

  1. Use a silicon moulds with the shape of your choice (stars, hearts, pumpkins, christmas trees)
  2. In a saucepan, bring the maple syrup, water and vinegar to a boil.
  3. Cook until the thermometer reads 143 ° C (290 ° F).
  4. Remove from the heat immediately and pour the mixture on the moulds. 
  5. Scrape the mould to even out the liquid.
