Ingredients: flour, maple sugar, baking powder, sea salt. Note: Additional ingredients are required in order to prepare the recipe.

Additional ingredients:

560g mix:

  • 150 g of cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 1 beaten egg
280g mix:
  • 75 g of cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 125 ml of milk
  • 1 beaten egg

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Line a baking tray (30 x 40 cm) with baking paper and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, add the maple scone mix and butter. Mix with the fingers until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Pour the milk and knead the dough until just coming together (it should not be sticky).
  4. Transfer dough onto the baking tray and divide into equal parts*.
  5. Press each piece into a round biscuit or scone cutter (5-6 cm).
  6. Brush the scones' top with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow to cool on tray for 5 minutes before transferring onto a wire rack. Serve warm.
